running 30*+ spark advance

Just bought myself a scanner and while going through the live data I noticed I was running anywhere between 20-30+* spark advance. I'll be perfectly honest and say I don't know anything in regards to this, or if it has any correlation to knock. The car is close to stock. It only has a few aftermarket parts which are, spark plugs one degree cooler, 180* thermostat, new down pipe and cat back, and a CAI. Everything else is OEM parts.

SO now that you got the background info, My question is if this spark advance is normal for essentially a bone stock car.

While Crusing down the highway under light to moderate throttle, that is normal.

Under WOT you should see about 15* given you dont have any KR

Well first thing, take those colder plugs out. They are not needed. You want to run the hottest spark possible. AL606's Copper Core is what you want. Iridium's are fine as well, but do not get platinum.

Getting 20-30* of timing (IGN. Advance) is perfectly normal for highway cruising.

When going WOT you should anywhere between 14-16* on a stock car, and like Pat said, that is if you are KR free. If your car is Knocking, the PCM will pull timing to help prevent KR.
