rough idle after new plugs and wires

Well just like my title says, I have a rough idle even after I replaced the plugs and wires. I've been looking around online and some people say my catalytic converter is clogged, others say the fuel pump or filter is bad, then people talk about the injectors. What do you guys think would be the cheapest way to check this problem out? I know some garages that will hook up their computer to my car but some places want $50 just to do that. Another place wanted to charge me like 115 bucks to clean my injectors. any suggestions?

If you've done it recently then I'd check the plugs and wires.

Did you gap the plugs? Which ones did you buy? Was it doing the same thing before the P/W swap?

gapped the plugs at .060 and I bought the AC delco iridium. The wires are also AC delco and yeah it was doing it before. After I replaced everything it ran fine for about 3 or 4 days. Then when I started it up, it began the rough idle again.

You aren't supposed to gap Iridiums last I checked because the plug tip is too thin? Maybe that's platinums...can't remember...which is why I always get cheap copper core plugs...tried and true they always work and 3800's love em.

gapping an iridium normally results in damaging it.

awaits single post claiming "i dun did it."

My response: How does do?

My rebuttle...buy some $1.99 AutoLite 605's, gap them at .050"...because you CAN gap old school copper plugs...and they'll never give you trouble.

Just do that.
