Roof Rail Removal Instructions

I was wondering if someone could explain to me the best and safest ways to remove them. I will probably get them off of a junk yard car. Any advice or a link pointing to directions would be much appreciated.

do you know where a car with rails is in a junk yard? not very easy to find a car with rails in a junk yard

use a flat blade screw driver with tape on the end, and slowly pry up the back, then slowly lift it up the rest of the way without bending it too much.

its only held on by some rtv type material and double sided tape.

I know but I have been checking quite often. It doesn't make a lot of sense for me to be looking with out knowledge of how to safely remove them.

are they hollow? would a little heat from a heat gun help make this easier?

also is there a dealership part number for them? I know you can't buy them but some yards organize by number

Screwdriver or something with a bent tip to pry them up like a hammers end, thats how i took mine off when i left them to spencer to get the molds done. they only have some very hard rtv glue and no tape at all. and no they arent hollow all plastic so they are pretty sturdy.

Off topic. (because I can)

But did he ever finish those molds and start selling them?

I have no idea of wth is going on idk if you ever saw my thread on clubgp but i was having a lot of trouble contacting him only got probably 2 texts after i dropped them off in march i know he is a busy guy just didnt like how it went with keeping contact ignoring calls and no updates at all, still havent talked to him and still dont have them back havent bothered just because i have been really busy, but im not worried i plan on giving him a call some time soon just to go pick em up or arrive at his house and pick them up. But last i heard he had made some molds just didnt like how they came out thats as far as i know and this was on a thread i wasnt informed lol so yeah as far as finishing and selling them from what i know no.
