Rollmaster Double Timing Chain + XP Cam + Ported heads

Take the bolt and gear off the balancer and install the double roller. And your done. Put on the new oil pump cover and 2 paper gaskets and your good to go. Don't forget to put the crank sensor back in before those 2 bolts go in.

Doesn't the gears of the double roller need to machined? Look In max's alero build thread.

It is best to have it machined that way you would no longer have to have a machined oil cover nor a double gasket. A machine shop machined mine for $15 which is cheaper that a machined cover and double gaskets. I have a double chain for sale

Ok guys in order to save me some money from buying the machined oil pump and extra gasket ill get the gear machined.

How certain is it that i wont have any chain rubbing problems if i get the gear machined? I dont wanna not buy the machined cover and extra gasket and end up having to take the timing cover off again.

because the chafer of the aussie based crank is diff than the american crank, what causes the rubbing it the chafer of the crank gear

You should still use 2 paper gaskets if your not going with the machined cover, my gear is machined and it has still rubbed against the oil pump cover. Machining it is going to cost about as much as the cover but you should do it anyways.

get the gear chamfer corrected and mill down the oil pump cover .020".

do not run two gaskets. it's a waste of money and time, you do not need it. it's also a good place for leaks.
