Good afternoon gang
got a split  in the rf outer cv boot....the split is new, the axle is quiet....need a how to in the replacing the boot....anyone?

Replacing the outer boot alone is a bit of a pain, since you have to separate the joint, clean it, and reassemble it. Inner joints are simple, since there is no joint to disassemble, which also makes it easier to clean. If you do both boots at the same time, you can get away with not having to separate the outer joint, making it easier. I replaced the inner boot on mine when it ripped, since it was so straightforward. I'd say either you replace both boots or replace the whole axle. At that point, even I would just put a new axle in.

I guess ? Whenever I have them out , I would warranty them. On the 2nd attempt Napa said its a one-time exchange ?

thanks for all the advice guys....did the boot anyway....we'll see what happens....worst problem :th_sick1:I had was the stupid tierod end.....nut wouldn't come off....end up cutting the "hold" end of the stud and cutting the nut...all good now:th_king-normal:

actually I did...I am a licensed mechanic (been out of the trade a long time....actually since fwd was abnormal).....and used my whole bag of tricks....:(

Next time pry down on the top of the tie rod. It will keep it from spinning so the nut will come off.
