Ridiculous Shipping on Ebay?

I would just politely tell them that you got a quote from FedEx for $51 per seat and ask if they would be willing to ship them that way. If not, ask if it's okay to arrange your own shipping if they will get the seats ready to go.

I guess the absolute worst that could happen is they could file a non-paying bidder complaint against you and they could leave you a negative mark on your feedback. I doubt Ebay will do anything about it since it does say "contact them" or whatever. Just looking at it from Ebay's eyes, I'm sure they will say you should have asked about shipping costs before you placed your bid.

Don't take that personal, it's not a dig at you at all. That's just what I would lay money on being Ebay's point of view. I definitely think it's BS and I see it all the time. Undoubtedly they knew freight would be high on these and they should have pointed it out in the description.

exactly, I mean if you never ship stuff you have no clue what the limitations are, I rarely bid on anything if they aren't telling me what the shipping is, even if it's just a calculation

sign up for an ups or fedex account only takes afew minutes. Fedex probley work best since its larger. Then tell him to ship it on your account and give him the number. Then the shipping just shows up on a bill from ups a week later. I did this to get away from people jacking up shipping. I own a business and i get people who want me to use there account to ship to them all the time.

I have done that also, but I always offer a few dollars for them packaging it, and what not

Just watch out for the gold plated packing tape......They charge a lot for that stuff :)

I like that idea about the FedEx account thing though. I wonder if you can "bend" the system and find a friend at local dealership or some place that accepts frieght, and work out a deal with them? Just a thought.

I know a person that owns his own dealership, so maybe I will try to work something out with them. and that fedex account thing is an awesome loophole.

polite way around it is to just say. Can you ship it on my fedex account? I get a pretty good discount with them because of the volume i ship thur them.

if my new bumper could be shipped fedex i dont see why seats couldn't be

If it needs to be on a pallet or heavier than a certain amount, it was my understanding it needs to be shipped freight. which couldn't be sent to residential addresses

Seats

Hey wolf, where are you located? I am in MI. like maybe an hour form their shop. I dealt with Schram before and Im pretty sure he will work with you. Did you get in touch with FedEx about Freight shipping? They have an 800 number to call and ask questions, they will get you a rep. to talk to.
1795 is right, if its on a pallet , it is considered freight due to the shipping procedures no matter where you go or which way you slice it. Depending on where ur from, you might just want to take a road trip to get them.

Also....having things shipped to a business is cheaper. Most of the things I have shipped to me is through where I work.

I'm located in Wichita Falls, Texas. So a road trip to get them myself is out of the question. lol

I haven't contacted FedEx on the phone but I did measure my current seats and what not, then got a shipping quote for it so far. I'm going to contact Schram later on and see if I can get these for $200 shipped because that is about all I have available to spend on seats at the moment.

Yeah, in the E-Mail I'm about to send I am going to state the fact that he is shipping these seats to a business, not a residential address.

I have a FedEx account, it does wonders! shipped a (60lbs all thogether) SC to reptile this past weekend. they took the big box no questions asked. and it was HEAVY. I dont see why they cant put each seat into a shipping box and ship them out that way....

reptile is right...business is cheaper than residential...

Well, I got a reply back from them and they say if I want to ship it by FedEx that will be fine. But...

They told me to contact FedEx and arrange for them to go pick it up from the sellers store.

How the hell do I go about getting FedEx to go pick this stuff up and then ship it too me?

call FedEx. they have a customer service number.......they can arrange it to be picked up....just need to know the addresss.

yeah...had to ship things at my old job all the time and arrange for a pick up...like UR LOSN said u just call and they'll pick it up if u have the address same goes if you want to ship something yourself...they'll come get it from u
