Went to Ride for Pride on Saturday, and we had a blast. I think the final count was 83 cars. We had quite a few people who participated that were from out of the area, like Vermont, Delaware, N.C. and other areas throught out VA, MD, and DC.

Here's a link to some pictures my husband and I took at the Pentagon Memorial and of the cars. You should check out that one Red GTO, talk about sweet.

Also, here's an intro video from DKitchen as we are leaving the park, I can't wait for the final video.

Here's another from DKitchen taken during the actual ride on the Beltway.

And I'm not sure who filmed this one.

Just thought I would share with you all, enjoy the videos and pictures. Hopefully some of you in the DC area will be able to join us next year.

I really liked your banner you had in the rear window. I could not make out what kind of personalized plate you have, what does is the emblem to the left say or represent? Just curious.

And thanks for sharing and REMEMBERING!!!!

And here is how I remember every day!

Actually, I didn't know that they made that plate for Missouri as well, we have the same plate too. Mine is the USS Cole plate, I used to work with new construction Destroyers. And after the Cole was attacked in Yemen, she became new construction. So she holds a special place in my heart. I actually got to go down and see the damage first hand when she came back to be repaired. Talk about nasty looking, but I wouldn't mess with her now, she's one bas a$$ ship.now.....

And here is a picture of the USS Cole Crest and the meaning behind it:

A blue reversed star represents the Medal of Honor posthumously awarded to Sergeant Cole for his self-sacrifice and extraordinary heroism. The crossed navy sword and Marine Mameluke signify cooperation within and the fighting spirit of the Naval Service. A French horn combined with two swords underscores his service with the Marine Corps as a Field Musician and reminds us of his nickname, "The Fighting Field Musician." The laurel wreath is emblematic of honor and high achievement.

MOTTO
GLORIA MERCES VIRTUTIS

"GLORY IS THE REWARD OF VALOR" underscores the spirit of Sergeant Darrell S. Cole, his extraordinary heroism, his unwavering loyalty to his country, and his bravery in facing adversity without fear. "A DETERMINED WARRIOR"
