Reverse/Drive - Crack/Pop/Snap noise (not rice crispies)

Im getting this loud snap/crack/pop noise shortly after I put the cam in. Only happens from a stop or slowing to a stop with no other symptoms other than the noise. Its a fairly loud snap when it happens. Any ideas what to check? Im gonna be pulling everything apart on Saturday for a few other repairs/installs and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for a quick repair.
 


shot motor mounts is my guess.

pop the hood shift it from P to R then to D watching the engine, if its moving a lot theres your clunk.
 
yah they weren't looking great when I lowered the subframe. Guess its another part ill order lol. What are the recommended ones to use. I figured it was a mount and checked the one accessible bolt but it was tight. It is a fairly LOUD snap noise and I figured maybe I didn't tighten it down enough.
 
if you can have someone else shift it in and out of gear, watch to see if the engine twists in the bay when shifted. the belt side on my car was moving a good 2 inches. my mount was real deal.
 
nope, motor mounts.

the one on the bottom replaced the up there ^^^^.

the top one was drilled, drained and then filled with polly and left to cure a a week.

did the same to a gtp trans mount, the old one is a crappy regal mount.

Lol yikes... Well looks like ill order those. Just gonna go with the solid mounts. Probably should look into dogbones or poly replacements if they make em for the 04+
 
they make em, all the same for all years. i got a set of polly rad side bushings, i left the old stock engine side dog bone bushings, it needs a bit of play in my book.
 
i know how it feels, 220 in gaskets fluids filters and such for my new engine. ill be $300 deep before its all over im sure.
 
Well the way I see it do it right do it once. Anything else you think I should order so I don't keep paying shipping fees? Getting zzp solid engine, tranny mounts and poly uppers.
 


thats all your mounts, none left lol

make sure they are shot tho, dont go buying stuff if its not needed.

also stick your head under the car and watch the down pipe, it could be hitting the sway bar when shifted in and out of gear. if your o2 is in the speed daddy factory spot it could be hitting the fire wall if you didnt clearance the fire wall.
 
o2 in the cross over is a bit risky when your modded with a cam. its only reading the front bank of the engine. you may want to find a better place for it down the road. or bash the fire wall in to make it fit. ( what im doing when i swap engines.)
