reusable engine parts

turbo6

i know that the cam, crank, main bolts all need to be replaced along with gaskets on a rebuild but what all is reusable? like timing chain, lifters, connecting rod bolts, flexplate bolts and whatever else anyone can think of.

im in the middle of a budget rebuild and kinda need to get it back road worthy sooner and cheaper than later and more expensive.

thanks in advance!

things that automatically get changed.

Bearings (after checking them)
Bolts (every bolt is TTY)
Timing chain (it's cheap, don't put a semi stretched one back in)

Something to keep in mind though is usually you can get a used motor cheaper than you can rebuild. And if you are turboing.. look into the 04+ GP NA motor. I've seem them low..like $300 for a motor with 50K

i couldn't really find anything used around me at the time and already had the machine work done.

so im going to need all new bolts. it there a way to clean the lifters?

Did you have the block line bored as well? I've heard that this is a must when rebuilding one of these motors.

not that i remembered but everything was spec. out and measured, and the guy has been doing it for years on end.
