Replacing my muffler.

Im replacing my muffler and I bought one with 2.25 openings. I just went outside with a caliper to look at the pipe diameter and it seems like the pipe is only like 2.10 and more oval than round coming right out of the stock muffler. I thought it should just be as simple as cut the old one off and clamp the new one on.

Is this right?
