Replacing Engine - Should go with NA like what I had or go SuperCharged

Hey guys,

I had my car lose oil and sounds like rod bearing or other on the crank or piston is knocking. I got a new car but really thinking about fixing this one up since it is basically in fairly decent shape and doubt I would get more than $500 or so from it if I sold it, and if someone even wanted to buy it in the first place.

It is a 97 Grand Prix GT of course NA 3.8. If I were to get a supercharged engine would I need to get the transmission that goes with that too or would the one already there work too? Also if you get an engine can you use your PCM? I assume with a supercharged one I need a supercharged PCM to go with that.

I am really going back and forth about selling it for what I can get or just making it a project car especially since it isnt far off from being a classic in 6 years.

Dave at TEP said he could rebuild a 4T60 to take 4T65 internals, but it would probably cost less to go with a junkyard 4t65

Thanks for the input. So looks like I should go with an upgraded transmission with the supercharged engine if I go that route but it could work with what I have so far.
