Replacing Drivers Seat

So I'm looking at buying a 2003 black GTX and selling my 2000 GTP. I'm only looking to replace my GTP, because the rockers and wheel wells are starting to rust and it would cost more than I want to spend to repair. The 2003 GTX is in excellent condition, but the leather is significantly cracked and worn out. I have kept my seats well-maintained in my GTP and am considering swapping out the seats. The back seats are a breeze to swap out, but I'm not sure how to do the drivers seat. Both cars have the same color leather interior and both have heated drivers seats. I did some searching and haven't found anything regarding how to remove/replace the drivers seat. If anyone has any insight on this, it would be greatly appreciated. Or if there is a current post out there related to this situation, feel free to send me the link. Thanks in advance!
 


Slide the front seat all the way forward. On the rear of the tracks there is a bolt on each side securing the track to the floor. Remove the bolts. On the front of the track it's basically a hook. Tip the entire seat forward then slide towards the rear of the car. It might take some wiggling, but they will come out.
 
unplug the wires under the seat first, then do as posted up there ^^^

the seat belt bolts to the side of the seat as well. at least it did in my regal.
 
Thanks for the help Jared! It doesn't seem too difficult. I took the bolts off in the back and was wondering if anything else had to be done before I take the seat out. I'll work on it later this afternoon.

Like I said, it might take some wiggling. When I pulled a set of 04 seats it was tough getting them out. But my 98 seats came right out. Aside from the fried power seat motor issue haha.

Funny part of that is guys with the newer style seats have gotten in my Regal and told me how great the seats are. Then asked..what are they from. I reply "A 220K mile 2000 Regal GS" with a smirk
 


You guys are ridiculous lol. For those of you who replaced your seats with the 04+ seats, did you replace all of the seats in your car, including the back bench?(not meant to be a stupid question)
 


Wow, that is the perfect link Jared. It's much appreciated. However, the GTX wasn't as great as I once thought. My GTP was cleaner and in much better shape. The fact that it was a GTX made it very appealing, but it wasn't worth the asking price. I'm sure this post will help someone else in the future anyways. Thanks guys!
 
So I am replacing all my cloth stock seats with good condition leather ones I found in a junkyard. The problem is there's no power or battery so I can't put the power driver seat forward to get to the bolts. Any suggestions how to get the seat pushed up without power?
 
I would ask the guys at the junkyard to bring a battery out or a charger to give you power long enough to get the seats out. That or they may just pull them for you.
 
I know this is an old thread.

I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on replacing the full-power drivers seat in a 1993 4-door Grand Prix STE? What model year seats will fit? The replacement can be either a manual or power seat (would be cool to have this, but not a necessity). The seat crapped out for the previous owner. They cut the wires going to the seat controls. Then installed a toggle switch to just slide the seat back and forth. The back seems frozen at a nearly vertical position (making it really uncomfortable to drive) and I can't figure out how to recline the seat back some until I can get a replacement seat. Thinks in advance.
