Replacing Dogbone Strut Problem

Hi all, I'm new to the GPs, and servicing my car in general.

Since I bought my 04 Grand Prix GT2 it's only had one dogbone torque strut on it's 3800 engine. The other day while driving the remaining torque strut broke, and I went to go replace it with a new one today. While I was diassembling the strut from the frame, the engine shifted and now I can't get the bolt holes realigned. (I thought I had the engine supported from beneath)

I was wondering how/where I can jack the engine up to realign the engine with the bolt holes on the frame before I take the strut completely off. I'm just trying to be extremely cautious with this.

Okay, this happened to me once. The engine went flying back towards the firewall and its stuck, yes?

It gets hung up on something, not sure what or how, maybe something with the lower mounts gets messed up. It just needs to be pulled forward. Use ratchet straps or another car to pull it forward, use caution.

Try rocking the car back and forth with it in park. That motor should move enough to allow you to install the bolt into one of the new dog bones (push on the radiator support)
