Replacement maf sensor

Other than ac delco has anyone had any success with other brands of maf sensors such as walker, dormant, standard, etc?
 


I used a off brand new one on my 01. Was a lot from Napa. I made it I would say 8-10k miles before it failed. Put a used 20$ ac delco on it and it's been 9k miles since then. My old maf left me stranded thinking it was my cat that was bad.
 
Is the MAF sensor a work/non-work part? Meaning does it wear out or it works 100% until it doesn't. I've cleaned mine numerous times over the years and it's such an important part, does the efficiency diminish over time?
 
I'd like to know that too. I have a maf code even after cleaning, my idle is erratic with occasional stoplight stalls, and occasionally stumbles while moving. Thinking its the maf.
