Replaced Oil Switch/Whining

I replaced my oil pressure switch last Thursday and immediately after installing, I noticed a power steering whine that was not there beforehand. I had to work around a steel line to line up the oil pressure socket to replace it. Question: is that stainless steel line in that area a part of my power steering mechanism? Thanks for any input / thoughts.

yes it is the p/s line, and the sender you changed has nothing to do with your p/s pump whining. its time for another little project.

unless you broke the line somehow and fluid leaked out.

No leaks, already checked. My pump has always had a quieter whine, this is just more noticeable and LOUDER. I realize that pressure switch has nothing to do with my power steering, my question was about that line, thanks for the reply...Power steering feels great and the whine does quiet down as it warms up. Will keep a sharp eye on it.

you will know when its time, no more power steering, when it starts to whine bad change it as fast as you can because driving a car with a bad pump WILL KILL YOUR RACK. you dont want to do a rack unless you have to.
