Replaced coolant temp sensor and....

1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT 3800

Well I'll start with why I changed the sensor in the first place. The car was clearly overheating but the temp gauge would be at like 180-190 degrees plus the exterior temp on the climate control would be 20 or more degrees higher then it actually was outside if the car is sitting still but go down as you drive.

Anyway I changed the sensor and now the gauge will go all the way up to red line but when I hook my computer up it says it's only 199 degrees (obd2).
