Looks like I'm going to remove my EGR, I was wondering if anyone had any tips or if they could post a quick step-by-step on how to do it.
While we're on the subject, what are some of the things that can be removed with keeping the functionality of the car? I've noticed in a few posts that people remove the EVAP system or at least part of it, but have yet to find a how-to on any of the sites. Someone should definitely post up some how-to threads for things like this
 


deleting the EGR is easy. take it off and cut a couple little plates to cover the holes in which the EGR tubes went. put a little RTV on those and bolt those on in place of the EGR tubes. i actually cut the tubes and used the brackets already on it, but i RTV'd coins in them and its been sealed just fine. that hard part is finding someone local to delete the EGR trouble codes so you dont constantly have an SES light.

the EVAP im not so sure about. i left it on my car because it didnt get in the way and i didnt want to go through the hassle.
 
I've got a guy that works at a repair shop that has cleared a few codes for me before. Is it just going to be a one time delete kind of thing, or will the code reappear after each startup?
 
The codes would reappear each time. You need to reprogram the computer so that it doesn't set the code at all; for that, you need a tuner.
 


It also brings in old exhaust gases to warm up the intake air...hence why when you take off the TB and see all of that black ****...won't have that with the EGR gone ;)
 
the EGR is actually after the throttle body, so that's kind of untrue. it may get a little residue on the rear side of the throttle plate, but nothing really.
