Removing the Boost Bypass Valve?

Ok ive been looking and i cant really find any Intel on this. Why would you remove the bbv off the supercharger, is there any performance gain in doin this or loss, i have seen it on a few cars specially just going through glancing at picture and noticed they were gone plus one of the gentelman thats showed his car with us last year had his removed. Looking at his the only thing i noticed was how it sounded when he fired it up sounded like it had a mild cam in it but it wasn't, does any one know anything about doing this?

you want that valve so the car is able to dump boost in the right situations. without it you could end up in a bad place.

I can't. My PCM is setup to maintain the same AFR in TCS and any other scenario where you'd typically see the BBV solenoid force the BBV open.

so the only loss is in fuel economy none in performance?

Correct. But likewise, there is no gain in performance either.

i agree in your situation, i had mine run the same way, remember?

he has a GTP, so his is all setup to function correctly. therefore he should leave it as is.

It's put there from the factory for a reason.

One of the things on a L67 that shouldn't be messed with.
