Remove the factory bose amp in the trunk of my 02 GTP?

I have 2 12" subs in a box, amp, new rear speakers, head unit (none installed), I installed a system in my last car, but Ive been holding off on this job because of the factory bose amp in the trunk.

Anyways my problem has to do with the sub box, it will barely fit into my trunk, and WOULD be able to slide all the way to behind the rear seats, if not for the factory amp bolted to the top of my trunk and hanging down about an extra half foot from the top of the trunk.

So my question is this, how can i remove the factory amp so i can fit my box in the back of the trunk? and also as far as my new rear speakers are concerned, whats the best way to wire those with the bose amp gone? can i splice some wires from the origional bose system and use them to connect the speakers to the new head-unit?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Ive been dying to get this stuff installed but i dont want to mess with that factory amp! Thanks guys!!!

Well, I don't know if this will help or not but if you are planning on a rewire for your system and just bypassing the bose amp then I guess you can just disconnect it. I don't know if anything else uses the amp besides the bose system I heard the onstar system also uses the amp but I don't know about that.
I have an 03 with the bose system and that was the first thing to go it just didn't sound right and I hated it so it's all alpine now.
The onstar isn't used and I really have not attempted to remove the amp but, if my speaker boxes wouldn't fit cause of that amp then yeah I would want it gone too.
I suppose you could just unmount it from the trunk so you could get your stuff in and then reattach it and I would think it is just screwed to the inside of the trunk.
I did not install my system I had someone else do it cause I was working alot so I can't tell you if anything uses the amp or not.
I hope someone can tell you more.
