Right befor winter go figure my remote start stopped working in my 04 compg. My keyfob is working and my lights even flash as if the car is going to start like it did when it worked but just doesn't try to turn over. I don't know much about remote starts. I looked under the dash hoping to find a module to find a brand or something but found nothing but the passkey3 thing with my other key taped to it. Also when I got the car there was a blue wire running across the engine to the icm the was hardly hanging out so I soldered it and hid the wire because the remote start would stop working unless I pinched that wire.

I thought of this but i have the no cel on a few codes because of cam, egr, no cat ect. Unless those are causing the issue because of it.

Ima try tracing that blue wire to the module when its warm out and check for continuity.
 
I haven't installed alarms and stereo equipment in many years, but Blue is a common wire to run when you need extra length. It sounds like there is a signal that is not allowing the RS to take over. First thing I would look at would be hood pin switch. Follow the wiring where you found your hidden key (can't believe in this day and age people still use this). it will lead you to the module. Do you use your factory Key FOB or is it aftermarket?
