Relay install for foglight HID's

2000GTP

New member
So were doing the HID install in the fogs on my friends GTP. we got the 880 HID kit but found out that for it to work without blowing fuses we need to use a relay harness. so we ordered the relay harness. and now we need to figure out how to hook it up because its not making sense and it didnt come with any instructions. anyone have any ideas? pictures would really help too

Did you get a 880 relay harness or a generic one? If you have a 880 harness you should only have to use one factory connector to go to the harness then one connection to the battery the other as a ground. Got a picture of the one you have?

he got one for an 880 kit. and also one thing we were having a problem with was finding a good ground. because they give you two ground wires near each ballast connection but its only about 6 inches long. theres no screws in the frame around that area or anything so i cant really find a good ground for them

I used to always make my own grounds and grounded it up by the headlight where it ties into the body.. You can also get two washers and some self tapping screws and just make your own ground wherever you can, or extend the grounds you have now up to the engine bay..

Id use same gauge as already there then solder the connections and to top it off some heat shrink.

I made my own grounds as well, i don't have hid's but i do have aftermarket fogs with its own relay harness, its the same idea. I had to extend some wires, make my own grounds, etc etc, pretty much what opp said.
