Rearview mirror wont stay up.

I have a 12" clarion 500w rms sub in my trunk. It sounds great but the bass rattles my car to much. Every 3 minutes or so i have to push my rearview mirror back onto the mount as it is rattling loose and will fall down in matter of minutes if i dont push it back on. Since their is no screw on these mirrors is there a way to make them stay on mount better? I would love not having to worry about my mirror falling every 5 minutes or so. I dont want to tape it or do something that would look tacky or be really noticeably visible. Any suggestions?

Sink some epoxy in there... It won't move at all... ever. :p

I find it sad that in these cars two crappy 12's running on 300 watts total rattles the crap out of the mirrors, all of them.

lol..just glued my base for my rear view mirror today caused by my old sound system..i actually had the mirror off for 3 years because i knew it would keep coming off.. Luckly i didnt get a ticket...i know someone who got a ticket however for having a rosary hanging on the rear view mirror.. how ****ty is that..

i dont really want to epoxy incase i need to slide it off the mount. theres something broke on the inside because when the auto dim comes on it doesnt dim the whole thing. It makes a big oval in the mirror.. kind of annoying lol. So if i ever decide to get a new mirror i want my old one to come off :D . i also got my door clips replaced about month ago and they are loose already but that doesnt bug as much as the damn mirror. Overall interior on these cars are pretty poor.

You legally don't even need it...

My 15inch Kicker L7 with 1200 RMS to it kills all my mirrors and rattles my car like a B*tch

get a plain ole rear view mirror. screw the auto dimming. they make day/night mirrors haha

my clarion gets stupid loud for only 500w rms. XD besides getting a whole new mirror, is there something that will hold it in place firmly not using epoxy as i might need to take it off some day. i might just live with it the way it is.

my mirrors been off for so long that it actually gets in the way now that its back on..kind of annoying..

Go to Home Depot or Lowes and pick-up some Loctite. It's used to keep screws and bolts/nuts from backing out. I'm sure it would work for this to hold it in tight without being as permanent as glue or silicone. Good luck

Interesting ideas. my bose system causes the mirror to fall down rapidly as well. Just figured my mirror was worn out. The locktite is a decent idea!

my subs eventually broke the glue that held the mirror in place...... F*ck a rear view mirror... its in my trunk somewhere now :)

Loc-tite is NOT good for plastic. It will eat it/melt it. I dont know why but it does. I tried taking some from my dads work in a pill bottle, in a few days there was not much left of the bottle, and i didn't get to use any!
