Rear View Camera Help

Hey Guys new to this fourm. Just got my first Car an 03 GT. Had it Tinted today and it looks great. I am installing an in Dash GPS system at the moment with a rear view camera.

My Question is ... The camera does not seem to have enough power going to it. I tested it with a multimeter and it read 9 volts to the backup light. The camera needs 12 volts to run. Can I get a conformation on this 9 volt reading on the white reverse light? I will test the camera on a strait up 12v battery tomorrow to see if I can get it to power up. Thanks for the help.
 


Been thinking about adding a backup camera myself.

Where did you end up mounting yours? The license plate area seems pretty compact without any surfaces suitable for mounting that won't interfere with the remvoal of the license plate, at least on my '04...
