!Rear turn signal But no Tail Light!

My passenger side rear turn signal works perfectly fine(new bulb) but the tail light that is supposed to be the same bulb will not illuminate when its time for the lights to be on. Anyone know why this might be? I have a repair order from an officer, so i really need it done. Ive tried turning the switch inside that doesnt work, and when it turns night time and they automatically come on it still wont come on but it will still blink for the signal. HELP PLEASE!:th_crossbones1:

Does the Left taillight and center taillight work? Do you have a multi-meter? check the connections with a friend, pull the bulb out and test for 12v at the connector. if no current shows while depressing the brakes then you must search for the short.

Yes the left tail light is and brake light in window is fine. Its only the tail light, turn signal which goes through the same bulb is fine, its just my tail, parking is fine also.

I would for on swap the bulbs from L 2 R and see if it follows and if not start searching for the short, most likely the within the socket or the wires to the socket.

sounds like a bad socket. id poke it with a test light see if it lights up.

a lot of these bulb sockets un clip off the wires. if it does take it off, test for power at the plug. ive had sockets go bad. its a easy change even if you need to cut it off and solder on a new socket.

with the moisture problem in the GP's tail lights have id be thinking socket.

I went and took a water vinager mixture with a Q-Tip and cleaned out the socket and now it works. Thanks for all the help.
