Rear Speakers Don't Fit???

Just got new 6x9's for the store and they do not fit into the plastic lift bracket the OEM speakers did. Anybody have a solution?

Umm that adapter doesn’t look like what he needs.

When I installed my new 6x9s I took a Dremel to the OEM mounts. I had to skeleton-ize them, it was a PITA but it worked.

the 6x9's should drop right in no problem.

Unforunately they don't.

Well it seems like you installed 6.5's in your rear deck.

not 6x9's.

Use the edit button.

Unforunately they don't.

Mine fit just fine.

I have the entire plastic retainer with my aftermarket 6x9 out of the car.

Lemme take a picture....

The plastic stuff there is one of those "bass boomers".

I put them in to see how'd they work.... not well. turns out 6x9's love oversized enclosures (aka your entire trunk) so i cut it open and tore most of it off.

Took less time than pulling the rear seats out.

Guy at installation shop said a lot of 6x9's require some mounting alterations for the speakers to fit. I brought back my alpine's and got some poo poo pioneer's. They fit fine.

My 6x9 Memphis PRs dropped right in, bolt holes were just SLIGHTLY off, but a little boring on the bracket and they fit snug :th_thumbsup-wink:

ya i had that problem with a cheap pair of speakers for the 6.5 and the 6x9 i just sanded down the plastic but with higher quality alpines they dropped in and didnt need sanding, it is weird
