Rear oiling port???

Im building my l26 and im putting in a jp double roller. I want to remove the balance shaft but im not sure how to plug the oiling port. can i just scuff it up and fill it with jb weld or do i need to put a plug in???

just leave the shaft in, the 5 pounds of weight savings won't get you much of anywhere, and then you don't have to worry about filling that hole

Thanks for the reply but im in there so i would like to just remove it. I didnt ask if i should leave it in! Im waiting for gaskets so rather than sit around with my thumbs up my butt i would like to get something done on it

then either turn the shaft bearing so there is nohole for the oil to go through, or take the rear main cover off and get a pipe plug that fits the hole and screw that biatch in of course making sure to get a good ammount of thread sealant on the plug

i left mine in. doesnt do anything but sit there and i dont have to worry about plugging that hole. the extra dead weight helps dampen the motor vibrations as well.
