Rack & Pinion Bushings/ ABS Wire/ Wheel Hub

I recently went in to my shop to get a free alignment.. (they miss quoted me by only $200 on another job I didnt have the time to do, and that was my "oh crap we screwed up" gift) and they couldn't align the wheels because my rack and pinion bushings were wore out. Thats entirely believable as my car has 1143XX Miles and the previous owner didnt exactly take care of it. But my right front speed sensor wire is ripped, so bad I have to replace the Hub because the wire riped so close to the Ring. I have access to a lift, so Im curious if its just best to do both of these on the same day, if that is eaiser that way and what not. Also I have access to GM parts at "At cost to dealer" pricing, so should I get an OEM hub? I know the typically suggested aftermarket brands, but I didnt know if this was for quality, or the OEM parts just being to expensive? Any thoughts or comments are apppreciated...:D
Also if I do this, how screwed will my steering be? The drive to the shop for alignment is only about 2 miles from where I will be working on it.... but its a very busy four lane road.

I've never heard of swapping the bushings. It should be fine once you do them though. The alignment may be off a tad..but it shouldn't be an issue for two miles.

The wheel bearing.. it's nice to do it on a lift.and you should be able to do both in a couple of hours.
