Quitting smoking...

Oxfire

New member
...was the best decision I have ever made in my life. Been smoking a pack to a pack and a half a day for the past five years or so, I used to be an insane athlete before that and I couldn't even run up my stairs without getting exhausted.

Decided to make a drastic change in my life eliminating all things that I waste time with, smoking, smoking pot, Facebook, Twitter, etc, and I feel better than ever. I am currently on day number 5 with cravings down to one or two really bad ones a day, my lungs feel exponentially better, I can taste my food again, and overall, I just feel amazing.

This was more a social experiment on myself to see if I can do it and it's amazing to see that I can actually accomplish what I set my mind to. If anyone has any worries or doubts that cigarettes do and will continue to control your life, know that it's absolute bullsh!t and that you can make a novel change in your life.

If there already is a thread about this, mods feel free to delete this one...just feels good bros and girls. Cheers!

You know if you have a craving that's bad enough. Electronic cigarettes are a decent alternative

I'm happy for you though! Good job :D

I need to quit, tired if hiding it from the gf, and mostly for me, climbing ladders all day it gets exhausting, and the worst part is I lite one up even when I'm outta breath

congrats man... been down that road...smoke free for 11 months...best part i dont get sick anymore!

Congrats and keep with it, is best thing you can do to improve your health! I quit over 20 years ago, 2-1/2 pack a day habit cause I couldn't get through a schoolyard basketball game with almost passing out, lol.

Besides @ what cigarettes cost today, I could never justify that expense.

3200 dollars per year spent on cigarettes. Been smoking for four years, that's about 12,000 dollars spent thus far. WUT. That's three MINT condition GP's. I'll keep you guys posted, it's really damn hard but I'm hoping it gets easier the more time goes by. Glad to hear there's much support :)

I still want a cigarette at least once a day. I've thought about deleting facebook and getting off all the forums, maybe I should do that for the new year. All of it are addictions.

Don't leave us lolz. It's very addict ing, I can go hours at work not thinking about a cigarette, but as soon as I get into my work truck or car, it's smoke city

Yeah but with varying nicotine levels you can wean yourself off of the nicotine also.

Many Stories come out about people getting on electronic, feeling so much healthier cause no smoke. Then they start to reduce the amount of the nicotine in their cartridges and eventually they either get 0 nicotine cartridges or they stop all together.

Either way its a plus. Stay hooked on the feel good nicotine without the cancer chemicals.

Or switch and wean yourself off all around. :D

Electronic cigarettes are bull****. To me at least. I tried them and all they made me do was start smoking and enjoying a real cigarette even more instead of that foggy, steamy, ****ty fake taste. (I bought a Riva 901 or whatever with Crystal, high and varied nicotine content).

Drunkie, deleting my facebook was the best thing I have done. I no longer waste time filling my brain with other people's lives, and now I read Forbes and other such articles to keep myself up to date about the real world, not what some 'tard posts as his status.

If I ever buy an electronic cig, it would be to blow some gnarly O's. That's essentially one thing I loved about cigarettes were smoke tricks.

Lol only 3/4 puff off of my e cig. Attractive photo I know...

Granted I can't do O's myself I believe that is plenty of vapor.
Also the throat hit is legit and it tastes good. Right now I'm on a Hungarian tobacco flavor and it legitly tastes like I'm puffing off a hookah
Ecigs have changed and brands that are good are amazing now.

To be honest I have never even heard of the one you tried lol

Congrats man! I'll try again this year.

How'd you quit? Cold turkey? Or just wean yourself off over time?

I've tried out the e-cigs and they do nothing, but make me want a real cig even more.
Ive cut down from a pack to a half a pack a day. That's just been recently of the 4-5 years I have smoked.

Thinking about just going cold turkey. I've never actually set my mind to do it.

If your ready to quit your ready to quit. Its all in your head and i feel maturity has alot to do with it. You can fool yourself and believe the ecig or chantex or gum or patch is making you quit but in the end it has nothing to do with it.I smoked for 13 years 1-2 packs a day and tried them all but in the end the way i quit was just not wanting it anymore.
