Quick valve question

Anyone know how much abuse the stock valves can take? I'm at the point when I need to decide on valves. If the stock ones are tough I'll put the $150 into other mods. I'm planning on 350hp to the crank.

They can handle more power than you'll ever make. Not that power is really ever an issue.

Valve upgrade come when you want more flow, like if you were to port a set of heads or buy a vendors heads that have bigger valves.
 
I am porting my heads right now actually, but I'm staying 1/2" above where the valve sits when closed. So I should just polish the stock ones and reuse them right?
