Questions about my COMP G

I have an 04 Comp G that is beginning to feel its age. I just replaced both front hubs (it has 120,000 miles) and it now needs a resonator and the struts are original and are due for replacement I have only had the car for 3 years btw. Also, while I do really like the car, my plan is to keep it for another year and a half, then give it to my daughter when she graduates college. My hope is to then get the car I really want, an 05 or 06 GTO.
First question, which exhaust system will sound and perform the best, without costing an arm and a leg. Next, which are the recomended struts to keep the handling and ride at least as good as factory? Is the stabilitrak in any way connected to the strut type, or is it strictly a braking issue.
I am actually quite surprised at how well this car handles, as I usually had rear wheel drive performance cars, TA's Mustangs etc, and did not like the handling of a 03 Monte Carlo SS, which supposedly is on the same platform. I want to keep the handling the same as my daughter also likes the car.

Thanks for any help.

To keep things cheap and to keep the sound smooth and quiet, buy a glasspack that is 30in long and have a muffler shop weld it in place of the resonator.

The glasspack is basically a resonater and many of us use them in that spot because they are really cheap and affective. The rest of the factory exhaust is perfect, there is no gains to be had from changing anything after the cat converter.

The whole debate about what sounds good for mufflers could spread over 30 pages with every tard coming out of the wood work to express there opinion on mufflers. Keep it simple and stay with the factory mufflers.

As for struts, the FE3 struts are stock on COMP cars and will handle the best. Anything else will be a worse ride per say, not a HUGE difference but the regular struts on the GT and GTP cars are slightly softer and arent the same sorta feel. But switching to them isnt a heart breaker, just the ride could change slightly. FE3 struts are the most expensive aswell.

Sorry for not replying sooner, that damn job keeps getting in the way. I just got the car back from the exhaust shop, all it needed was a new resonator. I got a surprise when I was looking underneath, however, it seems that the restricted pipe with the O2 sensor behind the cat was replaced with a non- restricted (non crushed?) pipe. Or is that factory with a GTP? I will check out the FE3 pricing, but if I were to switch to KYB's would the difference be very noticible?

Thanks again,
John
