I want to purchase a GM diagnostic scanner to poke around and do some home diagnose/tweaks/repairs on my Pontiac G8.

Yestoday I found the GM tech2 scanner at Uobd2,
But not sure that, if this GM Tech2 can do Pontiac G8?? the information at UOBD2 not quite clearly...
and I want a cheaper one, are there any other devicces like the tech2 that is more affordable?

thanks!!!

Any good hand held scanner will do.

Most good ones will be around 150 bucks, most should be able to read trans codes, ABS codes and even show live data.

any one got this US703 supported car list??

Try OTTO SCAN if you have a PDA cheap. I use it all the time at work for small quick stuff, no need for MODiS most of the time.

If you have a Android phone I would take a look at the Torque App. I have it and for the money ($5 bucks for the app, $25 for the bluetooth obd2 scanner) its pretty damn sweet. It does WAY more then your standard Craftsman Obd2 style scanner. Shows you live information, data logging, KR, codes and so on.

They constantly update it and are adding new features all the time.
