Anyone that has had or will have their interior door panel off on an 04+, I have a 2005 that needs a new passenger side window switch. I have the $13 switch but haven't a clue how to get at the old switch other than rip the interior door panel off... Thought maybe those that have had their door panel off fora front speaker upgrade maybe noticed the window switch retention. Those that will be upgrading their front door speakers, would you please check this out for me and snap a picture?

Thanks from a Newbie!

i believe its the same as the 97-03, there should be two screws, two in the acutal like arm rest ( where you grab to close the door) and one possibly behind the pull handle ( the circular part)

The door panel has to come off. It is rather simple to take off. There is a plate on the pull handle on the inside of the door. Pop that plate off and there are two hex head screws in there (sorry, I don't remember the size). I do remember that I had to use a smaller (thin walled) socket that came with a 1/4 drive set I had. The one that came with my 3/8 drive set was too thick and would not fit down inside the recesses where the bolt heads are.

Anyway, take those to off and then use a rigid putty knife or scraper to pry the panel away from the door. Something that's pretty rigid but wide so it doesn't damage the plastic panel. I also put some blue painters tape around the putty knife so it wouldn't scratch it. Once you get the clips loose on the panel, then you can pull up and kind of out to get off the top of the door and clear the door lock knob on the top.

You should be able to remove the switch from the inside of the panel.

Sorry, I replaced my speakers in the front just a few days before joining this forum myself and didn't think to take any pictures.

I'm pretty sure i have pics posted on here somewhere of when i replaced mine. maybe its in "post audio equip" thread.

you have to take the door panel off theres no other way its really reasy though like the posts above me say, once in the door panel you dont have to do much i just installed an amp to my front speakers yesterday and remember seeing the switch wire, nothing to it really man good luck
