So I am wondering if tinted tail lights will be illegal in Iowa. Let me know what you think, and if so, how can I get around it?

Yes they are I illegal. I did mine light so they are still easy to see (still look really dark) and I also taped off the reflector strip so it is still visible. I have never been pulled over for it, but the cops in my town don't enforce the tint laws.

they are illegal anywhere. Its just a matter of how dark you tint them. Mine for my 2001 are pitch black.....and do plan on getting pulled over when I bring that car out.

do it lightly... and make it look factory.... looks better anyway...and you shouldnt have any problems
