Question for the meth-heads

Those running meth/water/alky injection, how do you know that it is working? I would have thought that scanning would show the engine going uber-rich at WOT, but it really did not seem any different. It seems like I am topping out at 11-12psi, and I have the controller maxing out at 10psi, how does that sound?

I know this sounds dumb...and possibly not worth it Josh...but can't you unhook it and run it with the current tune and scan for KR...then if you get any re install it and scan again...I know it sounds pretty noobish but just one of those things I would never think about because it seemed to basic.

I definitely can, but am wondering what I should see.

the only way i knew mine was running is because i ran SLIGHTLY richer as well as my boost level going up SLIGHTLY and my knock being literally zero no matter what i did.

That might be all there is to it, then. I still have a touch of knock, but I have not done much updating to the tune so I am sure I can get rid of it.

i usually had it start spraying around 6-7 psi and 100% at like 10-11 psi. what are you running for your meth percentage? 50/50?

It really has to do with what mixture you run vs. what nozzle. I think when I first got my setup, and the DO5 nozzle w/ washer fluid, I saw my AFR drop almost 1.5 into the low 10's. Now on the DO10 and 100% I see about the same, but only because more of the meth is getting burned up in the cylinder since there's not any water in it. The washer fluid quenches the flame a bit, so it really does it's job as a kr killer. I'm using mine as strictly a fuel additive now, and it seems to work pretty well for me.

thats what i was going for too. i wanted as much octane as i could get. an e85, meth, rockered setup didnt get me 12s then i didnt know what else to do (besides go bigger). :D

I have been tuning without it, but I am pretty sure I will see more in the scan next time I turn it up. I tossed a check-valve in-line near the nozzle that came with the kit when I bought it off of another forum member. I am almost certain it was a huge restriction, so I have removed it. We will see what kind of difference it makes over the next few days.

i never had a problem with that check valve. did you put it in the right way?

Which check-valve? The black plastic one, or the metal one? They were both installed the proper direction, and there was flow, but the black one is a huge restriction compared to the metal one.
