Question about using seafoam in the vacuum line on supercharged cars

Well I just seafoamed the vac line on my 2006 gt and it seemed to have worked pretty well.. I pulled off the brake booster line put a funnel in and poured in about 8 ounces of it over about a 10 second span or so which I guess was a little quick as I see some people pouring it in slow over a minute or so. Any who I put it in, let it set for about 20 minutes then started it up. Let it smoke like crazy for about 15 seconds or so, then started driving down the road slowly becoming more heavy on the throttle until there was no more smoke. It seemed to have worked well and the idle is smooth as can be. So hopefully I didn't do anything wrong.

The reason I ask is because I just saw a post on another forum that states Running seafoam thru the s/c isn't a good idea. Rather you should pull off the vacuum "T" below the s/c snout then put a piece of fuel injector line on the nipple of the vacuum line that's on the lim. Then just let it suck the seafoam right out of the bottle as it will go directly into the intake and bypass the s/c.

So what do you guys think?

Well that really is a relief. Thanks man I just wanted to make sure. I also put it in the gastank and1/3 bottle in the oil as suggested. I'm gonna change my oil tomorrow and change the plugs and wires Monday. To make sure that all gets out of there. It seems like good stuff but really don't like putting anything in the crankcase that isn't oil. Especially something so potent that it takes carbon off the upper intake and pistons in a matter of minutes

i also dumped it in the booster vac line, made a smoke show like you've never seen, surprised the fire dept didn't show up.

Supercharged? N/A its OK to dump in the brake booster I guess. Oh well. Harms done , if any and it actually does idle much better

I always thought you shouldn't put it in the brake booster line because it goes into the manifold in the back, and it may not get the front 3 cylinders very well. I am planning on using sea foam but wanted to get that figured out first.

I guess they are both OK. But if you put in in directly through the intake manifold ( the vac line below the s/c snout where the 'T' is, its directly going right to all pistons.

Either or my Car smoked like crazy and runs great now

good to know, ive seafoamed my car through the booster a few times and when i did my lim they looked great, coating was still intact. But Im curious now as to if this is true or not about hitting the rear cyl only.Has anyone seen proof of this after mult uses of it in a 3.8? Also keep in mind the front stock manifold is restrictive too.

i did my lim gaskets well over a year and a 1/2 after i seafoamed the car via the brake booster, the blower rotors looked pretty damn good, its got 224,000 on it at the time.

1 can vac line, 1 can fuel, 0 can oil. Let her chug til she is about to stall then cut it. Wait 30 min and go whoop on it. GTP gave me a little smoke, my last car mazda 3 I made a semi vanish behind me for 1/2 mile, prob thought my car blew up.

Yea I didn't wanna put any in the oil but seen it was safe and a lot of how to's had it in the write up. 1 full can in the tank. 8 ounces in the oil and the other 8 in the booster line. I might do it again in 10000 miles or so directly thru the intake below the snout. I just hate changing the rear plugs on this pig and it seems to be recommended after a seafoam treatment , at least for the top end and crank case. But I will definitely be changing the oil tomorrow

meh plugs are like $1.50 and take 10 mins. ive done it like 3 times in 7k miles just to clean it up real nice and deleted the egr befor hand and my engine is clean

I dont know about coppers, but Iv never changed plugs after sea foam and never had a problem. I know platinums would be squeaky clean.
