Question about steering wheel contols

Okay well mine dont light up so im guessing the bulbs are burnt out. I cant find the thread on how to replace them. Also how do u even take them out because they seem like they are in there pretty tight. ANDDD i have an aftermarket head unit so even if i replace the bulbs will they light up or no

you need an adapter for the aftermarket radio to wheel controls, and they just pop out with a plastic prying tool

They should light up with the lights on, no matter of the headunit. To pop them out..just a super small screwdriver etc like mentioned above.

wernt some controls closed off in the back and some were open bill?

Not to my knowledge. I've pulled many of them as they are the same as Bonneville ones for the years I dealt with.
