i notice that when the car shifts between gears there is first like a feeling if something pulls me back then it goes in slow i guess you can say.
any ideas what my prob could be.
by the way sorry if this is in the wrong section please let me know and i will move it.

check your fluid level, and color of fluid. smell the fluid on the stick dies it smell burnt? it could need a filter and fluid change.
 
on another note this started happening today just haven't had time to check anything with work schedules between my wife and i. there is also like a faint burnt smell that comes through the vent. its just kind of like comes and goes could this be the reason?
 
bring a white paper towel with you when you leave for work, when you park it at work, check the fluid, on flat level ground, wipe the stick off on the towel after looking at the level check the color on the towel.

give the fluid a sniff to, if its dark it will smell like its burnt. your fluid should be a nice pinkish red.

being your at 120,000, id bet the trans has never been serviced. every 60,000 is a good mark.
 
and i would think the smell in the vents is unrelated, if you've been having problems with the sound of the fan or the speed control of it. it could be related to those items. fan or resistor.
 


okay so just checked it pretty sure thats my problem car is running low on fluid and the fluid that came out of it was brownish.
 
buy 8 quarts of new trans fluid and a new filter. (dex 3) dont know where you live but theres a place called tractor supply they sell 2 gallon jugs for around $30.00 filters cost 15 and up. walmart fluid is made by the same co as the tractor supply brand, (travellers fluid.)

drop the pan by first removing a few corner bolts, then loosening the rest a little bit at a time and let it drain out the corner into a catch pan. pop the filter out, replace it. clean the pan up with brake cleaner and rags, then clean the factory gasket, and reuse it. top of with 7 quarts of fluid, check fluid level when hot and add as needed to fill line.

also look for leaks, the only way your trans will be low is if it leaked out. look around the pan gasket, and the lines to the radiator, and axle seals for leaks. before you do the service.
