Problem with vista

I just bought a new laptop, with vista.. and i am trying to download and install msn messenger, and aim, programs like that. but i get them downloaded and try to install and it doesnt let it install, just says it cant install it.

Is there a problem with vista? Is there something i'm doing wrong?

yeah its my laptop. i dunno... i dont get it. i have a different laptop i got about 2-3 months ago and that one i was able to download and install everything i wanted to on there.

stupid question but i am out of the country, would that make difference?
 
its cause u havent changed admistrator settings...u can google "how to get admin on vista" through google.....its a pain in the ass.

i tried this, searched in google, found a forum that walked me threw it. Completely fixed my problem! THANKS!!
 
I will wait for windows 7...I see it and vista similar to the whole Windows ME/2000 thing...ME sucked 2000 was the way to go until XP came out...till then I think my copy of Vista business is going to keep collecting dust...it was free so I cant complain...but I installed it for several months in a dual boot format and just didn't care for it at all...kept going back to the XP install...finally I said screw it and wiped the drive and reinstalled XP (pro) and couldn't be happier.
