Problem with transmission NO REVERSE...Any suggestions of problem

I have a 2000 pontiac grand prix, my car has run fine. All of a sudden I have NO REVERSE 1st or 2nd gear. Its like driving in third gear the whole time. Please help any suggestions or ideas what the problem is? Is the transmission shot? could it be a fixable problem? Thanx for any help or suggestions
 


Thanks for such a quick reply. So am I reading the No Reverse link correctly..... It could possibly be a fixable problem? Someone had said it could be low transmission fluid is that a possibility as well? Thanks again
 
Since you are missing Reverse, 1st, and 2nd ranges I would suspect more of an internal problem than what is listed on our website for a reverse only problem. Your year range was one that could have a geartrain problem and will cause no reverse and feel very lazy and big lack of power moving forward. You could also have badly burnt or damaged input clutches which would result in an identical scenario. A partially blown channel plate gasket has been known to cause no reverse also, and if blown out enough could effect other ranges as well. Either way this isnt something you are going to fix in the vehicle.
