problem with the new rack and pinion i just got

so i bought a reman'ed racc and pinion from rock auto but i just noticed it does not have the wire connection near the steering column like the old one did. is this connection needed? im guessing it has some importance haha
 


Same thing happend to me, I orderd the one without "magnasteer". The "magnasteer" has the wires. I called them and they gave a "return authoriztion" for it, and then I had to place a new order for the correct part. I was informed that all the reman. racks are supplied by the same supplier, even the "DELCO" rack, so I just orderd the one that cost the least money.
You will have to pay to have the incorrect part returned, and also have to pay shipping the return your old part also.
 
im working on sending it back in. thanks for the input. in order to get the part sooner, im just ordering the new one from advanced and sending the old one back.
 
alright so i got the new rack and pinion in and im throwing the motor together. how much power steering fluid does it take to top it off? i cant find the capacity anywhere
