Problem with fan blower only works on the dial speed 5

Hello,
I have a 2000 GT Grand prix. I am having a problem with the fan motor not working on speeds 1-4, but it will work on 5. Has anyone had this problem or know if it is the motor or the controls? Any help would be appreciated.

Your problem is the Blower Motor Resistor needs to be replaced.

I did try the search numerous times, but the words I used "blower, fan, heater " did not work for me.
 
And its a PITA to replace. At least it was for me being 6'4 280lbs. I found laying on my back upside down on the seat with my feet by the head rest was the easiest way to access it.

lol this is true. i HATE doing extra work. even if it makes it easier.

see my mind set while i'm working on stuff is, this doesnt HAVE to come off in order to get whatever out so i dont wanna do it cuz its extra work. then when i'm done i say "man if i wouldve taken that out it wouldve been so much easier and faster" lol

but yeah this job sucks. i was on my back with feet out the door just because i had to keep getting up to stretch my arms or whatever. i'm a little claustrophobic. 6'1 210
