prj wires and more

are the prj wires known to cause alternator whine? If not I have a couple other questions.

I also have a constant high pitched whine coming from my tweeters. without the car running, just anytime the hu is on. Originally thought it was the polk momos that were in the car, turns out not but they were shot anyway. Replaced with infinity perfects.

Discovered when the mtx 4 channel was switched to low pass the noise disappeared. So I was now sure it was coming through the tweeters. Replaced rcas and relocated chassis ground, no luck.

Going to try to use a old eclipse amp i have laying around, if still no luck I'll rewire the speakers with new wire and see what happens.

I am using an old pioneer premier hu, but I have had no problems with it before. I have heard pioneer decks like to have and extra ground attached to the rcas or the radio chassis but I'm not sure if thats the case.

Am i missing something?

I had a similar problem with my subs and sub amp, turned out to be the amp itself. Some how a resistor fried and was causing feedback to subs.Id try switching amp out and go from there. If its a resistor MTX should be able to fix it for you.Memphis fixed mine.

wtf are prj wires.

Plug wires,I think he was trying to knock 2 questions out in one thread. The prj wire question should probably be in a seprate thread for the model of his car,to get a better answer or be seen by someone who can answer it.

You got a ground loop some where.

And never run a speakers on low pass that is there for sub woofer use only.

Where you ground your system at?

i have that same thing coming from my speakers but its not my system, the aftermarket radio is what's making it in mine but i'm not too worried about it

Drilled a new ground in the trunk. Metal to metal.

Edit: it was the ground on the hu, fixed. Still have alternator whine however.
