I have had some troubles with power window on the drivers door. I replaced the motor only and it worked for less than a day. I have replaced the motor on the same door and it lasted 3 years. I was told when i bought the first replacement motor that it was different than the rear driver side window motor. This I've found out was not true so if you are looking for a cheap fix swap the motors.
TIP: I had used a meter to figure out whether there was power coming from the switch, which there was but the after market replacement would not work. I assumed it was done so I was putting it in the rear driver side door when I had a what the heck moment. I had kept the 3" electrical adapter from the first aftermarket replacement motor, so I threw it on the rear motor figuring I had nothing to lose. It worked so i've got 4 working instead of 3.
So if you are checking with a multimeter check the motor with and without the adapter too.
