power window issues, where to start?

Ok, I have a 1998 GP GT. Within the last few months window problems have started. It began with the rear windows not rolling down, then the passanger window stopped working. I took apart the master switch and cleaned it up per thehow to thread, they started working again. This lasted a few weeks then none of the windows would work except the passanger window, that would roll down but not up. The passanger door side switch would roll the window up and down. To fix this I bought a brand new oem drivers side master switch from the dealer. Now only the passanger front works with the switch. I have removed the door panels and checked each motor to see if they work. They operate fine when I put power to them with a hot jumper wire. I know its something in the wiring but I'm unshure where to go from here. Also if its any help, the switches in th front doors illuminate when the lights are on but the switches on the rear doors do not

Read that thread but I'm pretty shure its not the switch or the motors. It has to be in the wires

ok, so i know the switch is pulling power when i press each rocker down at the master switch. the individual door switches for the rear don't pull any power and don't illuminate at night. im thinking its in the harness, any ideas?

I have a 98 GTP and it does the same thing. If you figured it out please let me know how you fixed it

I've got the schematics for the power window circuits. The files are too large to attach to a post. If you send me a PM with your email address, I'll send the schematics.

In the meantime, here are a couple of possibilities to consider:

It sounds like you have an intermittent open circuit in the 12V feed from the driver's switch to the rest of the window switches. That feed is a dark blue wire, coming from the lock-out switch. The open could be due to a broken wire, loose connector pin, corroded harness splice or a bad lock-out switch. Most likely place for a broken wire is where the harness passes from the hinge pillar into the door.

When you bought the new window switch, did it include the lock-out switch? Try jumping out the lockout switch. If everything works with that switch taken out of the circuit, then you know the lock-out switch is bad.
