power window gremlins

i had a passenger in my car the other day, and they are like hey the window don't work?

but the master switch worked it. so now i go to look into this and find the drivers door switches work everything just fine, and all the rest are dead.

i've checked all the fuses and relays, all good. any ideas?

i do have a air bag light on, i have yet to even try to fix, but could it be a bad bcm, being that the air bag is lit and now 3 doors don't work the windows from their own switch.

everything else works fine, no other dash lights are lit either.

nope its off, well it don't help switched one way or the other, i actually went out and checked that after i posted originally, as it came as a after thought.

i hate electrical problems so much.

edit, the lock only affects the rear windows, and the front pass wont work from its door, it used to work.

i haven't tried the locks manually yet as i don't use the buttons, my car locks the doors and un locks them for you when you shift from park it locks and unlocks when put back in to park, and i have key less entry.

i do have the back door lock actuator unhooked right now, it was making a loud noise when i first got it, and the lock was not working. found the noise and killed it by unplugging it. but thats been like that for 10 months now.

driver side door has full power and works all the windows, and all 3 pass doors as far as i know its just the window switches don't work. i haven't been back out to see if the locks work yet, all the window switches used to work well, till now i guess lol

update, the power lock switch works on the d/s door and the pass front door, the backs have no switch, but i can hear them working, and they do work.

I believe someone above was trying to get you to look into the lock-out button on the drivers window switch, since it is odd that all other window switches are not working.

scottydogs,
I've got the schematics from the Factory Service Manual but the pdf files are too large to attach to this post. If you PM me with your email address, I will send the schematics to you.

From your description and looking at the wiring diagram, I'd guess you have an open circuit in the 12V feed from driver's power window switch to the rest of the switches. All the switches are fed from the driver's door, through the lock-out switch.

I'd look for an open circuit on the dark blue feed from the driver's door switch (Pin D on the driver's door lock-out switch connector). Could be at the switch, in the harness or at the splice (under the driver's carpet). From what you're describing, I think the most likely culprit is the lock-out switch.

is this schematic for a 98 regal? if so please sent it to [email protected]

so basically your saying it could be the child lock switch not working properly?

if thats the problem thats not to bad, as i was planning to replace the whole cluster of switches on the d/s door due to to all of them being well used and looking like crap.

Diagrams sent to your email.
It could be the lock-out switch itself or a broken/open circuit in the 12V feed to the other switches.

found the problem, its the lock out switch for the back window child locks, i took the cluster of switches off the d/s door and tuned it over and gave it the magical wrap with the handle of a screwdriver and hit the other switch and it worked. the lock out switch is so loose its almost falling apart.

so ill be just replacing the whole cluster of switches as planned some time ago, as they are all torn up and ugly.

edit: i just wedged a piece of cardboard next to the switch, and it seems to be doing the trick, so thats my fix till i find the new cluster of switches for the d/s door. thanks for the help guys.
