Power Stop F-Body Z23 EVOLUTION SPORT BRAKE KIT

Has anyone and any experiences with these kits from Power Stop. Rock Auto has a pretty good deal on them and looks like they have everything I should need for the upgrade except the caliper bracket bolts, sleeves and maybe the brake line banjo bolts.

IDK but the fronts (Part # KC1547) are $194.55 on RockAuto.com with a 5% discount coupon. That's a real good deal for rotors, calipers w/ brackets, pads and hardware. Nice find!

edit: If I had seen this around Christmas time, I would've just bought this kit

Also rockauto has an instant rebate of $10 just for the fronts which brings it to $184.55.

$20 off if you get the rears too. Damn I'm pissed now lol

I think I can get the f-body front kit and the factory rear kit (so they will match) for right at $450 shipped. Sucks the shipping is about $60 to me, but still not a bad price I think. And the red powder coat will match my car. I think if I don't get any negative feedback by tomorrow I will be ordering.

let us know how much it ends up being. I've been looking at doing an F body conversion for a while but haven't because of funding. my brakes aren't getting any better, so this might be the deal I need. I just want to do the fronts.

They are $240.79 with the $36 core charge - $10 promotion that ends 2-28 so $230.79. Then you can get an additional 5% off with a discount code that you paste in the "how did you hear about us" box. So ~$220, plus shipping.

Thats because you are counting the core....

I found my f-bodies in a JY. I sandblasted them personally for free and got rebuild kits for both front calipers and painted them silver to match my car. The grand total was $62 for everything. I could have gotten 2 new remans at NAPA for $80 but went a different route. Yu can get them for $80 at AAP as well with online codes and returning the core. IDK if AAP is anal about putting the accurate core in the box but my local NAPA didn't care as long as there was a caliper in there. I'm going to get the remans from NAPA for the wife and put my old rear 97 calipers in the box lol

Also SGT, you can get new ACDelco C6 Corvette calipers for about a hundred bucks each and no core on rockauto. They won't come with brackets but you can't use the Corvette bracket anyways so you're going to have to buy F body brackets too

I will keep that in mind. I probably need to start hitting up the local junkyards. to do the F body conversion I just pull the calipers and rotors, but where do I get the brackets from? and what else would I need?

You use the fbody bracket as well. So take the whole thing while your there including the bango bolt and the bracket bolts. You can either drill out and tap the fbody bracket to fit the gp bolt, or get a spacer and use the fbody bracket bolts.

thanks

Yeah junkyard parts would be cheaper for sure. I haven't had much luck finding any around where I live to scavenge from. But for about $250 with drilled and slotted rotors, doesn't seem like to bad of a price to me. Still probably a couple hundred cheaper than the conversion kits on ZZP, which I just checked and they are selling Power Stop pads with their kit and bet the rotors are the same.

It's not a bad price at all. I hate red calipers tho lol. Are you getting SS brake hoses?

I went ahead and ordered them. I already have the stock length SS hoses. I'm still unsure if I actually need longer ones or not? I'm not sure how much I'll like the red hardware either, but maybe since the car is red it'll blend in nicely. Makes me think of this Eclipse that I keep seeing in the parking lot at work, looked all stock except for the huge red Brembo calipers. I couldn't believe anyone would dump that kind of $ on an Eclipse. THEN, i noticed you can buy fake Brembo caliper covers!

I finally got this kit installed. So far I'm happy with it, the brakes feel like they always should've.
