Power Steering Funtimes

The ps pump on my GXP is higher than the reservoir so I wasn't able to completely fill the hose between the reservoir and the pump. Probably why there was air in the system.
 


Air can be trapped in the Rack as well as the pump. However, almost always it is an issue where the air is trapped in the PS pump. The way we suggest is the vacuum bleed. By watching the fluid level in the pump when it is running as compared to when you shut the engine off, if the level rises and falls, there is a very good chance of air still trapped in the system.
