Power in speakers

I have Boss Speakers 6x9 for the rear deck, I connected the speakers to the wires of the factory radio. They work however they sound soo mono that to hear the slighest bass I have it at 6+ (the max). Am I doing something wrong? I feel like I should be getting more power then I have coming out right now.
