Powder Coating Brakes

Coming this summer I want to get my brakes PC'd, but I'm not completely familiar with the brakes on this platform quite yet. I'm assuming the piston/seals will need to be removed since they'll be baked. What is the best method to remove these? Also, on the e-brakes, how difficult is this contraption to remove? Or am I better off just "taping" it off?

Any other tips or recommendations would be much appreciated! Thanks!

The piston and seals just pull right out. I used a welding clamp (basically a Channel-lock with flat clamping area instead of teeth) to pull the piston out. I just recently powdercoated a set of calipers I had, very simple to do.


Edit: I also coated my brackets and the inside part of the piston too, as they tend to rust.

I hope if your going to go through all that, that you upgrade the brakes at least and powdercoat those.

I've been thinking about upgrading but I haven't done enough research to know what I'd be getting myself into or even finding a decent deal on some. Power coating will be done for free, just need to buy the powder

Fbody upgrade is worthwhile and pretty cheap or go big or go home and get ctsv.. But check out the big brake thread under the suspension/brake section.

If you dont wanna mess with f-bodies, 06+ impala calipers with brackets are a complete bolt on.
