Possibly ducting for a custom intake?

3 Inch Automotive Air Intake Ducting - Spectre

I'm thinking of using ducting similar to this for my custim CAI. It wouldn't uneven spaces in between where the bends would be coupled, and also you can bend it. So you can keep it straight and slightly curved all the way to the fenderwell to minimize the need for a huge bend.

Suggestions???

Does Home Depot or any other supply store sell ducting like this? I'm sure they do, just won't be as pretty:D I'd feel more comforatable with confirmation that they do before I go off searching...

Thanks in advance!!!

If you're considering going that route, go ahead and get a few 4" aluminum pieces and make a nice FWI for ~$100 including filter. I got a 22* bend and a 6" straight piece and a pair of couplers for $60 through Summit plus the filter from Autozone for $20 (discount) and a roof flashing for a few bucks at Lowe's. I'd go out and take a picture of my setup, but the majority of my engine is strewn about my garage, so maybe in a few weeks...

But, seriously, that flex tube will probably not flow as well as your current setup, whatever it is. And, it's thin plastic which = major heat soak. Personally, I'd go with a HAI before a flexi 3" FWI. The 4" flexi stuff from Intense or ZZP may be a better bet if you want something flexible.

I'll check on that, yea I wanted to try the flexi stuff but wanted to find it in a larger diameter. This stuff is cheap enough to buy some 3inch stuff as well as 4 inch and maybe if time allows i'll check some horsepower ratings with them both...
